The Beginning
DNM was formed in November 2002 with offices in Pombal, but dates back to the beginning of the 1990s, when Mário Diogo and Paulo Neto decided to work together. The law practice of these two friends and colleagues is based in a municipality with a fast-expanding business sector. Their firm is essentially focused on the provision of legal support to business clients and direct foreign investment in this part of Portugal. The law firm's workload increased steadily and, at the end of the 1990s, Jorge Marques was invited to join the firm as a partner.
AEA
The firm's business clients began to seek DNM's legal support in the expansion of their businesses to Spain, the European Union, and other parts of the world. In order to be able to provide this support, DNM needed access to knowledge about the domestic law of its clients' target countries. In 2005, we therefore joined the AEA - International Lawyers Network, which is a network of hundreds of independent law firms of a size similar to ours, located in various parts of the world. This enabled us to support and advise our customers anywhere in the world.
Lisbon
With the growth of an increasingly close relationship with the firms in the AEA network, DNM soon started to support clients of other AEA firms that wanted to invest and expand their business in the Portuguese market. This resulted in the opening of offices in Lisbon, to support these clients more closely.
Justinian Lawyers
It is only natural that closer links develop with certain firms within an association of hundreds of firms, as a result of the professional relationships created between them. And it was in this context that Justinian Lawyers was born.

We belong to two independent international associations of law firms, which work with each other to meet the needs of our clients regarding the expansion of their businesses and interests.
